FLOWERS BEGUILE

Flowers Beguile Oh So Beautiful at http://www.flowers.biz is provocative in its offering of an attractive colorful array of floral arrangements. It is said that “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” (Greek Philosopher). So, forgive me if I am compelled to suggest that my flowers are the beguile of the earth, the enchantment of the world, the intrigue of the universe. Truly, my flowers are self-proclaimed as simply beautiful. Oh, yes, what is beauty and can it really be defined. What “beauty” was in ancient times may no longer be beautiful now because beauty is how attractive it is perceived and that changes over time. Hence, it’s in the eyes of the beholder. Fat women, once perceived as being beautiful (appearance of being healthier) has given way to being ugly or unattractive (appearance of being diseased or ill). Of course, the media plays a major role in setting standards of what is beautiful and what is not when referring to human beauty. For flowers, humans also play a major role in determining what is beautiful. We sometimes think of bees, wasps and other insects as being attractive to beautiful flowers. I dare say it is more likely the aroma (nectar) that these flowers give off that attracts them rather than their beauty. They (the insects) in turn, become pollinators. Birds and some other animals may be attracted to flowers because of their colors but many will be attracted because of their aroma as well. By William C. Harrison, http://www.flowers.biz/blogs.html
